All the pottery on this page is made with an iron-bearing stoneware clay body and glazes that I make myself (My glazes are all lead free.).  The pots are fired to Cone 9 2336°F (1280°C) in an reduction atmosphere and are suitable for everyday use. 

This means they can go in the dishwasher or the microwave, and if the shape is right, they can hold water too, but do not use over an open flame (this means a gas stove, a barbeque, or a bonfire) or in the oven, all of which can cause thermal shock.  Also, if you decide to use with hot liquids, be sure to preheat the pottery with hot tap water first to avoid thermal shock.  (Although they are fired to 2336°F (1280°C) these pots cannot handle rapid heating, a direct cause of thermal shock, which can crack or even blow up the pots.) 

Just using the "common sense rules" above, these pots should provide years of joyful use.
